Equestrian 2010-11
Rockwell hosted the annual Secondary Schools Competition for the Fr. Barrett Cup on Sunday, 23rd January. The competition, which took place at the Equestrian Centre in Thurles, attracted 16 teams from around the country. Kilkenny College won the team event which was followed by an individual competition. Fr. Jim Barrett, in whose honour the Cup was initiated in the 1970s, was responsible for the development of equestrian sports during the 1970s. The School’s Gymkhana was one of the centre-pieces of the annual sports day at that time.
