Rugby 2010-11

A rugby blitz tournament for the girls took place at Rockwell on Wednesday 4th May. Teams from Rockwell, Ursuline Thurles, Presentation Thurles, Abbeyfeale, New Ross, Kilkenny and Dublin took part. Rockwell had two teams in the senior section, and one team in the junior section. While the senior teams enjoyed themselves in wet, mucky conditions, the junior team adapted better to the miserable weather and was the only team to reach the final of their competition. There the juniors came up against Abbeyfeale, whom they defeated.

Holy Ghost Cup

Congratulations to the Bowen Shield team on winning the Munster Ten-a-side tournament which was staged at Rockwell on Wednesday 30th March. Having qualified for the quarter final through their group, the team beat St.Munchin’s and Crescent on their way to defeating CBC in the final.
